originating from the pine-laden countryside in Upstate New York, hudson quinlan (born David Robert charles berger) draws inspiration from his wooded upbringing, as well as a plethora of musical influences that produce a truly diverse and tasty output of sound.
Over the years, hudson has performed, toured, and recorded with groups of many genres both regionally and nationally at venues such as The Knitting Factory, and festivals like SXSW and CMJ.
as a solo act, he has built a one-man-band show involving live looping and percussive guitar. these skills were honed locally and abroad, sharpened while entertaining thousands of people on P&o cruises for nearly a year, traveling from parts of Australia through southeast asia.
hudson holds two degrees in sound Recording and Jazz Studies, which he is putting to use as a performer, writer, and private instructor.
He spends much of his time writing ambient-folk music under a project named willow|speak. the project is aimed to be a series of concept albums with literature accompanying the music.
